Peter is an award-winning facilitator and keynote speaker with 40+ years of experience working with leadership development programs around the world.
Whenever Peter speaks to a group, large or small, he brings a unique combination of global perspectives, deep experience, charm and vulnerability. He has an uncanny way of helping people and organizations reframe their life stories so that they can see the Heroic Journey they are on. In the process, they discover a new map to navigate their way in the world with more clarity, appreciation and joy. As the book subtitle says, you can reframe your past to navigate your future.
Peter is seasoned and well-respected thought leader with the reputation and credibility to back up his insights. As President of the Prouty Project, an enduring strategic planning and leadership development firm, he has worked with organizations across the globe to develop transformational experiences that improve collaboration and facilitate cross-cultural strategic planning and innovation programs.
Peter has lived, worked and traveled in over 50 countries. He even ran a corporate training adventure center in Bangka Island, South Sumatra, Indonesia. To support that work, Peter earned a graduate certificate from Cornell University in Bahasa Indonesian language fluency. Peter has written numerous articles and essays, and has become a frequent guest on podcasts. His client list includes Ecolab, General Mills, H.B. Fuller, Intereum, Jones Metal, Medronic, Mortenson Construction, Taylor-Wharton and Thrivent.

The Epic of You gives me a chance to see my life in a whole new light. By reframing things that happened to me, I was able to appreciate the hard things that gave me “honey to my heart”—things that made me more compassionate. And some of the experiences, gave me “strength to my arm”—made me more resilient, gave me fortitude. In all, I am the person I am because of every single thing that has happened to me, every choice I made or didn’t make. Owning that makes for a much richer full life. This worked for me, it can work for you too, if you see your life as a Heroic Journey.
Peter believes that life is about the people we meet, the experiences we have, and what we do about them. These life experiences influence our approach to leadership.
Peter believes “Leadership is both an art and a science.” Every effective leader will honor talent and skills and lead from the heart to find the best solutions and resolve conflicts. Good leaders bring out the best in people. Peter is a big fan of Servant Leadership by Robert Greenleaf.
Peter’s life purpose statement is the following: “I live in love and gratitude by activating both the art and science of life to create beauty and peace, so that I inspire an awareness of people’s innate abilities, challenge them to creative action, encourage learning via awareness and reflection.”
